Sometimes size DOES matter! This is one of those times when all artists need to get out their rulers and show what they can accomplish within set parameters.
The Watauga County Arts Council is hosting “Size Does Matter” during the month of October, 2014 in the Main Gallery of the Blue Ridge ArtSpace.
All mediums are encouraged and accepted. All work, including frame, cannot be larger than 16×20 in size. The size of the actual image is entirely up to the artist. Work can protrude or be flat, of any subject matter or style, created of any materials, and can be created by artists of any age. Since this is a wall exhibition, all work must be ready to hang.
Works may be brought to the Blue Ridge ArtSpace , located at 377 Shadowline Drive in Boone, at the following days and times:
Thursday, October 2nd between noon and 5pm
Friday, October 3rd between noon and 5 pm
Saturday, October 4th between noon and 5pm
Tuesday, October 7th between 9 and 10 am

Artists may submit more than one work of art but, due to space constraints, it is possible that only one work will be exhibited The Gallery Committee reserves the right to make selections.
Label your work with your name and the name of the work of art in a location which will not show when the work is exhibited.
Submission Requirements and Terms:
A separate Entry Form must be fully completed for each work of art submitted.
Artists must be current members of the Watauga County Arts Council (most recent membership contribution must have been made after October 5, 2013). If the exhibiting artist is not a current WCAC member, he/she must join the WCAC at the time the work is installed in order to fulfill this requirement.
Artists must live in Watauga County or an adjoining county for at least some portion of the year. (Our adjoining counties are Ashe, Avery, Caldwell, and Wilkes in NC, and Johnson County, TN)
The artist should understand that keeping these commitments and leaving artwork for the full duration of an exhibit and promptly removing works is important to the success of the particular exhibit and the WCAC Gallery Program.
Exhibit Dates and Reception:
The exhibit will run from October 8th through November 1st. The Arts Council hosts the monthly Second Saturday Celebration of the Arts in honor of the gallery
exhibitions of the Blue Ridge ArtSpace so this month’s reception will be on Saturday, October 11th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Submitting artists are urged to be present if possible.
All of the Galleries of the Blue Ridge ArtSpace are sponsored by Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff.
