Since the late 1980’s the Watauga County Arts Council has showcased the work of local artists through its galleries. For many years we had three galleries in the Jones House Community Center. Then we were blessed with a beautiful little gallery space where we offered two galleries. But now we’re thrilled to be able to offer FOUR galleries!
Our four galleries are located at 377 Shadowline Drive in the Blue Ridge ArtSpace. Our main gallery features invitational exhibitions, our Open Door Gallery offers the work of emerging artists, our Serendipity Gallery offers the work of senior adult artists, and our Children’s Gallery features a different school’s work every month.
Each month we showcase the new exhibits and celebrate them with an opening reception at the culmination of the Second Saturday Studio and Gallery Hop.
Receptions are frequently not just a wonderful opportunity to meet the exhibiting artists, but also an opportunity to experience the musical and literary talents of some of our local arts community. And with the Second Saturday Studio and Gallery Hop, they’re an opportunity to tour area studios and galleries at your leisure during the day and to finish off the experience by coming to ArtSpace to enjoy the four new monthly exhibits plus enjoy demonstrations, performances, and more.
We are honored that our gallery exhibits are sponsored every month by our dear friends at Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff!
