Junior Appalachian Musicians Program

September 2010: For those of you with children in grade school or high school, we are still enrolling students for the 2010-2011 Watauga Junior Appalachian Musicians program. This program features weekly music lessons in traditional styles on fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, and flatfoot dancing at the Jones House Cultural and Community Center. Students meet weekly on Thursdays at 4:30, 5:30, or 6:30. All 25+ lessons, recitals, dances, guest artists, and access to the JAM lending library is available for a $100 enrollment fee per student. Instruments can be rented for $25 for the entire year. The spaces are filling very quickly, so please let me know as soon as possible if you know a student between 3-12 grade who would like to participate. We are also seeking scholarship money to help support tuition and rental for students-inneed. Please contact me for more information about the JAM program.
