| Junior Appalachian Musicians Program |
August 2008: The Watauga Arts Council is now accepting new students for the 08-09 Junior Appalachian Musicians Program. Weekly classes in fiddle, banjo, guitar, dulcimer, mandolin, and dance will be offered on Thursday evenings at the Jones House Community Center in Boone for students in 3-12 grades starting on September 18. The small-group lessons are taught by local musicians. Thirty lessons will be given throughout the school year. Students may sign up for 10 lessons for $40 or all 30 lessons for $100. Instruments are available for rent for $20 per 10-week session or $50 for all 30 lessons. There are limited spaces available, so please register soon.
